I recently decided to update my router to the latest stable kernel, 3.23. After doing so, the router has been having problems.
CPU stays at 100%
Winbox displays only errors
2a. view interfaces (error: timeout)
2b. view ppp (error: timeout)
2c. view firewall filters, they display, but all the interfaces are marked as ‘unknown’
To upgrade, I followed the simple directions I found on mikrotiks website.
Download the combined package file
Upload it to the router
Reboot
I have attempted to upgrade, downgrade. Same thing keeps happeneing. I tried finding the same kernel that was orginally loaded, and failed.
i had the same problem but i worked it out i what i did was a netinstall formated the nand and reloaded the new packages i installed all of them and disabled the ones i didnt need
that worked for my and after the upgrade you did.did you do a systemrouterboard upgrade
i found this problem only with routerboard i bought that cam preloaded with 2.9 and where upgraded to 3.10 and then to 3.23
so try to do a fresh install/of router os on the board and do system routerboard upgrade and see what happens
the test to see if it works fine after the fresh install is to log in with winbox and top right enable cpu/uptime and memory usage and see if the cpu is still on 100%
