I got a routerboard 532 from a friend, because he couldn’t get it to work, and now I’m more or less stuck myself.
The board seems to be “stuck” in a boot loop, trying to boot from dhcp
RouterBOOT booter 1.5
RouterBoard 532
CPU frequency: 264 MHz
Memory size: 32 MB
Press any key within 1 seconds to enter setup.
trying dhcp protocol… OK
resolved mac address 00:0E:0C:A7:DA:8C
Gateway: 192.168.100.1
transfer started … transfer ok, time=4.2s
setting up elf image… not an elf header
kernel loading failed
(it’s just trying to load a large file from my linux dhcp-server here, so I could actually copy the text)
1: Netinstall doesn’t find the board at all; so I can’t boot from there (which is why I’m trying to boot from the linux dhcp/tftp server)
I also got a 433 board, and netinstall found that just perfectly, and I upgraded bootloader + OS without a hitch, so it shouldn’t be a problem with my config
2: I cannot access the bootloader, nothing happens if I try to press a key when it prompts me to, and the delete key doesn’t work either.
So, is it possible to fix this in any way? can I boot some kernel, and then reflash the board with a default config?
Straight cable will not help.
Try to hold on reset button to load backup firmware of the RB532 and let us know, it helps.
The next step could be firmware upgrade of the RouterBOARD532, but access to RouterBOARD BIOS is necessary.
RouterBOARD firmware upgrade (not MikroTik RouterOS) is possible via serial cable.
