RouterBoard 600/433AH and Mini-Pci

Hi,

which kind of mini-pci (3.7 Ghz,4.9Ghz…and so on) is possible to use on routerboard 600/433AH?

Thanks in advance.

Levis

It all comes down to software support. RouterOS supports 802.11abg cards that use Atheros or Prism chipsets.

Thanks normis.

Do you think it will support other frequency?

If it is so, when?

Thanks in advance.
Levis

it’s not a question about frequencies, but about card models. name an example

Hi normis,

for example Ubiquiti Xtreme Range3 2,7-3,7 GHz. 300mW .

Is it ok?

tnx

This card use AR5414 chipset, I think it’s supported with any RB. I think this card use additional frequency conversion like XR9 that mean in software you set for example 2412MHz actually it’s work on 915MHz same it is with XR3 card.

exactly, in routeros you have to get custom-frequency feature on license, to use it, because XR3 card does not use frequencies that are usable anywhere and you have to have special permit to use it (usually).

and when you buy the cards - make sure to get frequency conversion table so you know what you have to set to get desired frequency

Hi,
i want to buy 2 XR3 and set the frequency to 3.7 to make indoor test. It’s only for educational purpose.

So, what exactly I have to do? Is it the following steps correct?

  1. I buy 2 XR3
  2. I buy 2 433AH RouterBoard
  3. Do I Have to buy a routeros from Mikrotik with custom-frequency feature?
    4)That’s all

Thanks.
