Routerboard 750 with Motorola Surfboard (Time Warner Cable)

Hello!

Just received my first MikroTick router today, the 750.

I’m just trying to get internet through the device with my cable modem (which I’m using now to write this - connected to my Linksys wireless router). The modem is a Motorola Surfboard. I plugged it into Ethernet port 1, direct from modem to router. I had my laptop connected to Ethernet port 2.

I’ve power cycled both devices repeatedly and even tried to ping from command prompt and WinBox.

Seems like every time I hook up a new router with cable service I have this dang problem. On my linksys I had to “clone MAC address” of the modem, I dont see a option like this in the MikroTick interface.

Anyway, can anyone help me with this, I just need to get internet to the router so I can test a hotspot setup and so on.

Thanks!

I actually got it figured out last night but then fell asleep instantly.

I reset the router to default and it worked right away.

On to other issues.
