Hi guys at Mikrotik,

Let me know if the following combination will work:
RouterBoard 912UAG-2HPnD + Sparklan WPEA-127N miniPCI-e (Atheros AR9380) on 5Ghz 3x3MIMO (450Mbit)

I want to achieve 300Mbps real tcp traffic on this hardware combination.

It should work, but we have not tested the possible speed with it.

I have tested these minipci-e cards as a client side with asus rt-n66u access point. It gives me ~305mbps real tcp throughput. Do you think it may be any restrictions from mikrotik side?

300mbit/s is a lot for a 912, but it should be doable if you don’t enable heavy features on the board like something that needs connection tracking.

Any other routerboard options with minipci-e? I have in mind just basic setup, 5Ghz 300mbps network for internal network (multimedia, file server), 2Ghz network for basic internet traffic, guest network.

x86? I use a mini-itx atom board (dn2800mt). More expensive, but also faster.

the goal is to have hardware optimized for networking. x86 is for windows 7 )

RB433AH gives 203Mbps UDP or 95 TCP using 2 chain.
RB800 has 210 Mbps UDP or 190 TCP using 2 chain…

It have powerPC procesor 800Mhz

Mayby yes, you can try change cpu to 800Mhz for test

I just found picture in Uldis presentation. I don’t have a setup to test.

Not much. Just around 250 mbps peak TCP traffic in ap bridge mode. 3x3 mimo Sparklan WPEA-127N in PCIe slot. Indoor, about 10 meters. Any thoughs?

As you can see, the cpu is not the bottleneck.

CPU is simply maxed out by using second band (2.4) with about 80mbps tcp traffic in addition to 200-250mbps at 5ghz band.

Hi,
haven’t You encountered problems with both wlans working simultanously?
Because I tried to run OSPF simulated full duplex link on RB912 + minipcie, and since both cards
share the same IRQ I’ve stucked wit one or other to stop working after few sec.
Just one of interfaces gots blind after a while.

that looks like a serious issue. Does any have a 5GHz miniPCI-E card combined RB912, does it work fine?
I was thinking of the SR71E or another card with AR9280 chipset, does it work?
