Am I the only one who receives routerboard cases with rusty black screws (every time 100%) for years or does this apply to every shipment over the high seas?
I’m just curious if MT even knows this. Just annoying for new product to be rusty right out of the box 
This is more of a trivia question than a legitimate gripe, the cases are inexpensive and so are the replacement screws I can buy…

My cases have always arrived looking great. I’ve had one sitting here for a few months now, and it still looks new. Maybe your supplier bought a bunch of them and has them stored in a not-very-dry place? Titan Wireless is where I buy mine. Good prices. Great service. I am not affiliated with Titan except as a customer.
Also, notice the word “Beach” in my location. It is not dry here…ever. Right now it is so foggy you can’t see 100 feet. So they are exposed to moisture all the time.

Never happened with mikrotik , check ur distributor
The little black screws are the only thing that gets nasty. Take a close look at them next time you have a chance…
If its just me I’m buying a lottery ticket…

I only have two of that type, and both had clean black screws. No rust or corrosion. I checked them both just now. Only pulled two screws from each box. The oldest one (3 months) has a little discoloration on the threads, but here at the beach I am not surprised.
If I am the only one with unrusted screws, maybe I should play the lottery!

We buy a hundred or more cases a month directly from Mikrotik. Some packs of screws will be rusted and some won’t be.

They are presumably mild steel, not stainless steel, and yes, they do rust - have seen this.
Probably depends how the units were stored/packed/shipped.

We order from 2 sources:
The silver ones are always fine, the black ones are always rusty. My original intent was to see what others experienced, apparently its not just me.
My second objective was to get MT to spend 2 cents more on a decent black screw once they knew this was happening since at home they probably don’t see this. But like I also said, I was just curious, a dollar at ace and I could probably get all new ones.

A related point seeing as screws are being discussed:
IMHO it would look nicer if countersunk screws are used in cases.
I know there is a tiny difference in cost (a countersunk hole in case cover might cost slightly more than a plain hole)
But the finished effect is much nicer. And end customers seem to notice such things.
Even cheap netgear switches/routers have such countersunk holes FYI
