routerboard.com short description

It would be good to be a little bit more specific and write 500MHz G4, 400 MHz MIPS IV, 650 MHz SMIPS, etc.

where?

In the little descriptions on the main page product finder list.

And by SMIPS I meant the architecture, not what you started using it for. So hAP would be listed as the other MIPS with the same ISA.

With the additional detail such as dual-core PPC G4, it makes it easier to narrow down on some products without having to drill down into each page.

The mention of hardware encription in this summary completes the general picture.

It depends based on which features people choose devices. You can see the requested things in the product page, and filter by them in the left side menu.

For most people, number of ports and type of usage scenario is more important than architecture type.

Yes, but the point is not the architecture, but to have a quick general comparative idea of the performance level when there are many alternatives, which is obscured by just mentioning “400 MHz CPU” or "500 MHz [dual-core] PPC (+ “hardware encryption”).

If the ISA level of all MIPS and PPC are the same respectively, just mentioning always MIPS or PPC would be enough (I don’t know if some of the anonymous ones are something else)

In the same way, you might need to say 72-core TILE and 100-core ARM in the future.
