I was wondering is there a tool or does routerboard automatically recognize the device connected to an ethernet port? Do you have to manually edit/tag/descript this in the switch? 
You can manually rename the port, or you can just add a comment.
Now, if you have a dhcp server configured, you can view an attached device’s “Active host name” by going to IP > DHCP Server > Leases tab
