I bought it a few months ago from an Australian reseller, but has started hanging recently. Photo of LEDs shown below.
looks like it is physically hanging - on a wire 
what exactly is wrong with it?
I’ve now fixed the issue by placing it back on the bench. It appears to have been knocked off by some form of feline.
