I have a Groove AC and am about to buy a ROUTERBOARD HAP AC.
I want to use this with an LTE modem. I have taken a look at the compatibility wiki for USB/mPCI-E modems, but I am planning on using an ethernet connected modem instead.
Presumably, there are no compatibility issues when using an ethernet modem, as unlike with usb there’s no firmware or drivers to consider. Am I correct in my assumption?
As far as I understand, correct. Now, when you need to use the LTE endpoint device (it is just an IP), you’ll change your route out to use it as the new gateway. How you’ll do that automatically is a matter of configuring this and that. What product are you considering? Something like this or this?
Was considering the Netgear as that is just a simple modem, but I can power it of PoE. Expensive for what it is, but seems a decent spec. I don’t much trust being able to get hold of one of the compatible usb modems and having as much control over them.
