RouterBoard in CNC-Milled aluminium case

Appologies for being such a rude person to present our solution here, however we are a not-for-profit organization so I believe it does not violate the rules of this forum

Just wanted to introduce our CNC-milled aluminium box for RB433 we have developed from scratch:

version1 with SMA connectors:

If you are interested in more information please do not hesitate to write to this forum - we are very proud of our product and want to share and spread as much information and know-how as possible

Keep up a great work Mikrotik & RouterBoard! We adore your solutions!
Marcel

PS: The whole solution has been designed, developed and produced in Slovakia, EU and is being used in Scotland, UK

Where is it available, and at what cost (usd$)

See at http://www.mikrotikbox.com  Polish aluminium cases for Mikrotik on x86 boards and for RouterBoards.

Nice szemo77!
We are however focused on providing outdoor solutions, since our units are specifically being mounted on rooftops and foremost on the faces of the buildings where there is a very limited space available. For example our solution is fully EMC compatible including EMC sealing and grommets. Also we use a lot of silicone to hold the coax cables in their place.

w0lt1 - we do not directly sell the units, we are developing the units for our own internal projects, however you can contact wifi@shmu.org.uk if you are interested in the solution.

Looks great.
Anymore details on those boxes, such as size, weight, etc (not to forget about price of course  ) though, preferably in english. Thanks.

maco, what is the purpose of showing off your product if you are not going to sell it?

there is a market for high quality outdoor enclosures - consider becoming a part of it.

RK, we are a not-for profit organization having so many project ongoing that another marketing, selling and distribution branch would just unnecessarily bring up more expenses and management overhead, however if there is some serious interest I can put some information in English together during the next couple of days and post it right here  Beware though, because the price can be very high for such a specialized device - currently in a low-number series the price for the box including the sealants, screws, holders and technically all the hardware excluding RB433, miniPCI cards and N connectors matches 200 USD pricetag. You will however get a case which matches the highest industry standards (IP67, EMC). I am not sure whether this is something Mikrotik community is actually interested in. Any thoughts?

I’d pay $200 each for a few. It’s alot like an Alvarion case, and Alvarion radios cost a lot more, and they have good cases. I don’t like the pac wireless cases. The other option is a larger generic nema rated box, which isn’t practical to install/de-install in all tower situations. A modest high quality alloy case could be much better to handle.

jp,
well then you can make an order on moire@blava.net  production time is approx 2 weeks

Marcel

can you send me your cnc files so I could mfg some ?

dear changeip,

I can send you the STL or IGS or STEP format. I do not have direct access to CNC files - and I believe they are very machine dependent - we are using HERMLE 5-axis milling machine, but if you really really want to I can do my bet to post them under GPL license.

Marcel

I think any would be fine, but maybe IGS to start with ? If we can get these made on our machines here locally maybe we can do a run and make quite a few. Will see how much is involved.

changeip,
I will put the files online today - as you reckon, starting with original SolidWorks files and IGES  They will be released under Creative Commons license. Stay in touch - just need to install another Drupal instance

Sincerely,
Marcel

Sam…

Let me know when you get the file…

I have a project that it would make a GREAT fit…

Also I sould have it modified to stick a few other parts in…

Hey folks  The website is live now
Please check http://moire.maco.sk/ to get more info about the design.
The design is being released under the Creative Commons license - please read the info on the website first! Thank you.
