RouterBOARD is not detected

I have a defaulted v6.18 on x86 platform. It’s on a DOM in this computer

My issue is every time I try and change the BIOS setting (enter setup on: delete key) I get the error

Couldn’t change BIOS - RouterBOARD is not detected (6)

What does this mean?

Are you jocking?

I do not see any standalone-bootable RouterBOARD-BIOS inside your computer.

I do not think the RouterBOARD 44 can boot up alone without motherboard BIOS.

Can you make a photo of the screen when you see that error?

I promise you I’m not jocking. I might not even be joking. I probably am that dumb. It did hit me that the BIOS would be controlled by the computer itself and nothing residing on the DOM would change that, duh. I do feel the dumbs for this one, but I’m not familiar with MT routers!

The reason I bring it up is because I was having problems booting her up with a serial cable plugged in. It turns out for some reason it takes FOREVER to boot with a serial plugged in. Guess it has something to do with the computer BIOS and not RouterBOOT. I’ve been plowing through the wiki for mikrotik but it doesn’t mention anything about routerBOOT not being present on these types of setups but yea, I shoulda have put 2 and 2 together on why that would be the case instead of posting here.

Is not needed, is winbox/cli bug: when you issue routerboard command you give that error because the x86 is not one RouterBOARD…

Sounds like he’s trying to enter the motherboards bios setup but ROS is booting, then displaying that message – del might not be the bios setup key for that motherboard or it’s not being pressed early enough after power up

This button is only for RouterBOARD devices. You have a PC. This button will not work.
