Routerboard Layer 3 switching

Hello,

I’ve read that some of the routerboards have Layer 3 capable switch chips, so packets could be passed on without having to go through RouterOS, not affecting the CPU load, and increasing throughput.

This would be perfect for me, having the need of communicating between 2 different subnets running gbit.

How would I set up this?
Subnet one: 192.168.1.0/24 on VLAN 10 via port 1
Subnet two: 192.168.2.0/24 on VLAN 20 via port 2

Deleted because not related.

None of the RouterBOARD devices have L3 switch chip on.

You must be talking about the FastPath feature introduced in ROS v6. And, with some restrictions imposed on the configuration, the new CCR series devices should be capable of (effectively) doing L3 switching, meaning that achieving the wire speed is possible.
