RouterBoard not upgrading anymore.

So, after getting a bit fed up with UPnP only working with Xbox One once after power cycling both console and router board I thought it was probably due for an update since this used to work more reliably.

My RB493AH was on 5.26 which is now legacy and it upgraded to 6.32.3, afterwards I also updated the firmware too to 3.24.

There is a current 6.34.2 but it won’t update, at first it was due to the wireless package retiring, so I uninstalled that, now the download of the packages completes and it reboots but the version does not update.

I also tried the bug fix 6.32.4, same thing happens.

Have also downloaded both manually from the website and loaded into files (root, not any sub folders), again after a reboot no change in version.

Am I missing something obvious here? Can anyone suggest some next steps? Bit worried it won’t ever upgrade again.

PS. Anyone else having a UPnP problem with Xbox One? After a suspend it goes to “Moderate NAT” instead of Open NAT, rule is still in the RB, sure this wasn’t a problem before, have MS messed up UPnP in an update?

PPS. Yes, I use an RB at home, sick of rubbish cheap routers, DRYTK ones are ok and getting better with features, but I like RB, the full control and flexibility it gives, can’t afford a Cisco at home and they can be really odd in their design.

which channel have you selected on System > Packages > Check for updates?

Are you sure you downloaded the proper npk (mipsbe platform) for the RB493AH?

In any case, I would do a reset to no defaults then reconfigure it as its a major OS update. (save your setup in an export first)

Sometimes it can happen that old info is kept in a browser cache, and after an upgrade the web page is incorrect.
What happens when you visit the page from another computer, or with a different browser?

open files list and delete any npk files you see inside then update through system packages. this way worked for me
