I want to buy RB-1100 but I want to check :


Is it possible to bridge 12 Ethernet port as LAN and one as WAN? Also have a Vlan between each port and WAN port? (total 12 Vlans)

If that’s how you already know you need to use it you should buy a 450G or an 800 and a VLAN capable switch with at least 12 ports. Buying a router to bridge 12 of its ports means you’re buying the wrong hardware. Being able to bridge is often useful, and yes, the 1100 has two switch chips. Still: a dedicated switch will do better.

thank you few. I am looking for one that has RAM at least 256Mbps and speed at least 600MHz. so I look for RB-493G or RB-800. RB-800 is faster but it is almost double price. For RB-800 , is it better to buy 24V supply instead of 48V becuase it also work for other board. Or higher voltage better?


Note: RB-800 Power Jack is 10-56V DC


I have Mikrotik with PC has P4 3GHz and 512MB RAM and I want to replace it with A routerboard that doesn’t preform less. why RB-1000U is very expensive comparing to PC. My PC costs me $130 and it is from HP.
