Routerboard Recommendation - Product Choice

I am currently testing a RB150 as a PPTP/SSTP gateway for vpn users. It is using radius to authenticate users via Active Directory. I would like to add more users than the 2 or 3 that are using it now but suspect that the processor is going to not be able to handle it. I am trying to get an idea of what routerboard (not x86 based) people would say could handle say 15 to 20 SSTP/PPTP connections at a time. Thanks.

Do you need gigabit?

I do not need but if it has it great. I am mainly looking for how much processor / ram combination would be needed if it can be done on a 750 great if I need to go with a 2011L ok I am hopeful I do not need to go to the cost of a 1200 or so. Thanks.

750GL should be just fine but if you want just a little more ass go for the 450G.

Great thanks for the input. Being about the same price is a RB2011L or a 450G a better option?

The 450G has a little faster processor and a lot more ram, but also has less ports. The other downside of the 2011L-IN is that who knows when you will actually be able to buy it from a supplier.

With that many sessions I’m guessing you’ll be looking at more than couple of Mbps of throughput. If that’s the case you should drop RB450/RB750/RB2011 families and look for something beefier.
