Routerboard reset miniPCI-e module?

Hi there,

we use the Sierra Wireless modules, to provide 3G/4G connectivity and sometimes that connection gets stuck completely.
In some cases it is so bad, even rebooting the unit from the Systems menu won´t fix it, so somebody needs to go to the unit,
unplug it, wait for 30 seconds and replug it. Then it comes up again properly.

I wonder if there is a way to either reset the module in some way, or is there some 30 seconds power down for the Routerboards?

Thanks!

Kind regards,
Daniel

on the current routerboard designs there is no such option.
If the AT commands are still working I suggest to send the AT+CFUN=1,1 command to reset the modem.

Thanks for the prompt response!

Well, on the new Sierra Wireless modes we use the LTE interface for setup,
which would be the appropriate way to send over AT commands?

currently it is not possible to send any AT command when the interface is running. The only option would be to change the modem-init string for a short moment.

okay, and is this scriptable in some way?

Is there any update on this?
