Routerboard shows no hdd space but there is no files.

I have a RB433 and is currently have routeros 3.28. Im trying to update it to 4.1 but is wont. Also when it reboots then it will loose any recent saved changes

I tried to reset it from console, also tried the reset switch on the board. But still does not work.

In resources it shows free memory is 48.5mib bit free hdd space is 564kb.

What can i do? Is the routerboard faulty?

what about your PACKAGES menu?

The pakages look the same on the other router. And it works correct

remove some of them, you don’t need most of them!

you have CALEA enabled, maybe you are storing CALEA logs in the local storage.

Thanx i have removed some of then and only left advanced tools, ntp, routerboard, routing,m security and system on it. That only freed up 12mb of space. What can use the other 48mib of space? Where can i look to free more space?

check you graphing - maybe there you have some logs that track back long long time.

also, check if you have set up hotspot by any chance, and hotspot is using proxy, even if proxy is disabled. in proxy settings set that router does no caching (cache-on-disk=no max-cache-size=none)

I see that in the store list i can format or clean drive. But what will format do and what will clean do? Will both of then earse routeros from routerboard? If i can erase all unwanted stuff and only leave the routeros on it then that would be good

Problem solved. There was old user manager files stored on the router. I had to disable userman so that i can delte the old backup file. I reenabled userman pakage after i have done it and i freed up 30mb of space.
