Routerboard wireless router

Hello,

A friend of mine asked me to help him setup a wireless network for his customers (he has a gym) to have free internet in their smart phones while training.
I dont think will ll ever see over 100-150 lightweight concurrent connections.

Based on that, what is the minimum routerboard hardware that you guys would recommend?

Thanks

I was thinking of something simple, like an RB450G doing all the routing/nating and three RB751G-2HnD or (RB951-2n) in channels 1, 6 and 11.

I know im still pushing the radio limits alot, but what do you guys think?

The 450G would be more than enough for that, we have 450’s running 200 room hotels without an issue, so as long as you don’t do anything too fancy you are probably going to be fine. You will also probably be fine with standard 751’s if that’s what you want to use, but more 951’s with their TX power turned down might be a better choice so you don’t put out too much wireless signal if you want to go for a full MT deployment. You typically only want around 20-25 active users on a radio I believe, and smart phones have really weak radios and antennas, so more radios with less power might serve you better.

thanks for your fast reply… but what does “full MT” mean?

All MikroTik equipment versus using a 450 for the main router, and some other vendor for the access points.

ok, got it… help appreciated
