Routerboards and NTP

I have the NTP packaged turned on, I go to ntp client. I enter the ip address of my Windows3k domain server and select unitcast. It says “started” and then a few moments later switches to “reached”

But the time and date on the rb units don’t get set.. the logs don’t show the date/time.

What am I missing?

i think you miss a real ntp server - i think w2k3 server only answers to his domainmembers…

Be sure and set your time zone correctly

to actually set the time, the NTP must be ‘syncronized’ and it will only do this with 2 NTP servers configured and reachable, then it can syncronize and set the system clock to NTP time.

there are many NTP servers around that are free to connect to and synchronize time

My main MT firewall is both NTP client and server so that all the internal units gets their time from central firewall. Works perfect.

First off, make sure that it’s SNTP that you are using. Regular NTP wont do.
You only need 1 peer for it to work but that peer must be configured to believe it is more than a client. Perhaps you need to enable ntp server under gpedit.msc?
