Can somebody tell me how many clients (computer units) these routers can handle simultaneously?

is not that simple
really depends on other variables of traffic processed by the the routerboard device like:
mbps of throughput
simultaneous tcp/ip connections
packets per second
the most important thing is the configuration of the routerboard device
most complex configuration = less performance
Like Chechito says - answer not so simple. You can connect even 10’000 units, but the actual question will be, what kind of service do you intend to provide? They probably each need some kind of throughput, and you might want to do some filtering. These are the tasks that will load the router. Not the number of simply connected devices.
