I am facing problem with RB500, suddenly stops working. i have tried all options winbox,mac-telnet, Serial cable.
In serial cable using hyper terminal ,i can see that
RouterBoot 1.4 beta
Routerboard 532
hanging…
i have tried the routerboard firmware options using x-modem protocol also,but its not working.
I think its a bug 
in routerboard.
WHAT COULD BE CAUSE FOR THAT ERROR??
Anybody can help me out from that problem. Matter is very urgent.

first upgrade the firmware:
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/RB500_BIOS_upgrade
then reinstall RouterOS with the latest netinstall from our site

I am not able to send firmware file using X-modem protocol, i am getting Error like (remote Host not responding ) . If i login into the bootloader , then i can change the setup like boot from Ethernet …, then i can proceed to netinstall.
Here the problem is not able upgrade the firmware file of Routerboard.IS there any alternative steps…?
I have aproblem with a RB511, can the firmware be used on any of the RB series?
kutty: try to use the new netinstall from the webpage, it might fix it
matt: yes, any RB5XX can be upgraded
hi normis,
i have used that netinstall program (latest version) but no use, my RB532 was not Recognized by the netinstall program.
I have same problem with one more RB532 also.
please try to do some alternative to sole this problem.
