RouterOS 2.9.51 or RouterOS 3.12?

I am using RouterOS 2.9.51, and am thinking about upgrading to RouterOS 3.12

Has anyone had any issues with RouterOS 3.12?
Is there anything that RouterOS 2.9.51 can do that RouterOS 3.12 can’t?
Is there any reason why I should stay with RouterOS 2.9.51 at this point?
Are there any potential problems that I might run into?

Oh, Not Good! Not Good At All!!

What a shame!!!

Earlier I attempted to upgrade a RB411R to 3.12, it seemed to go through just fine except when it came back up, in the terminal “system routerboard” was missing. I downgraded and “system routerboard” was back. I think this may have been an isolated incident though, as since then I’ve upgraded a RB150 and RB133C3 to 3.12 without any issues. So I’m going to retry on the 411.

I think they have likely fixed and replaced the broken build of 3.12 by now. Did you upgrade all 3 routers from the same download file - or did you download it again for the latter 2?

The checksums of the files match, they haven’t been replaced.
I’ve upgraded numerous RB411s without any problems, the first time must of just been a glitch.

No, it definitely wasn’t just a glitch for me.

Apparently, it only applies to x86 hardware though…

LET IT BE!!!

3.10 must be ok … becouse I just pluged in a 433AH I had sitting around for the last month, and it came with 3.10 already on it. Humm …

I will be playing with this for a while before I put in into the field … Will upgrade it to 3.13 as well!
