Hi guys.
I have an rb532 board running routeros 2.9.38 that does authentication and acts as dhcp server.
I’ve connected it to a 3com officeconnect switch that provides a connection for lan in the office as well as being connected with cat5 to an outdoor senao ap (connected to 3 120degree sectoral antennas) through which clients enter the network.
I’ve noticed problems with vista based clients that range from ‘unidentified network’, ‘local connection only’, as well as failure to obtain an ip from the mikrotik router.
Now when i access the senao ap, i see that the client is associated, but the mac address doesnt show up in the router as a host (in spite of the fact that the computer has an ip, gateway and dns automatically assigned and correct).
I have to repeatedly restart the mikrotik router and senao ap before each time, before all returns to normal - and then just for a while.
I have downloaded and installed the latest bios upgrade for the routerboard (2.9) with no change.
Is it a compatibility problem with vista and mikrotik?
Is it a compatibility problem with senao and mikrotik?
Is it a compatibility problem with senao and vista?
Is it something else?
Please help, it’s frustrating!
Well known problem between Senao and Vista. Only option would be to turn off encryption which generates a wealth of other problems.
