RouterOS 3.0 beta 7 on vmware

Hi

I dont know why, I have problem with registering (demo key - level 1) RouterOS 3.0 beta 7 which I installed on vmware
When I enter key generated via www interface (I set Device type: x86 system) I get an error

Can someone confirm this ?

I tried to install the 3beta on vmware yesterday but I had no success. Boot from network using netinstall didn’t worked due to some unknown problems in my local setup probably (arp problem reported by virtual station). So i installed 2.9.x from boot CD (I found no ISO image for 3 beta) and then tried to upgrade to 3 but the 2.9x ignored the .NPK package I copied via FTP…

I setup ROS3beta via netinstall without problems

Hi,

is it possible to run vlans on ROS within VMWare?
I do not want to define the vlans on the host-system
(I dont want to stop guests, shutdown vmware, define
vlans, start vmware, start guests everytime I want to
change vlan config).

I want to do it on the guest-ROS using winbox.

Anyone done this??

Stefan

just go and do that… where is the problem?

and what about registering my ROS?

I get an Invalid Key error when trying to import or paste a demo key I just made into my ROS 3.0beta7 test server. This is my first testing of ROS 3. Do demo keys not work? I’d like to have a little more than 24 hours to play with it.

are you creating correct key for x86 system and not MIPS?

also, these 24 hours are actual online hours, i think that for testing you can turn off that system when you go away, so if you have to work for 8 hours a day that will be available for you for 3 days, as time counts only when system is turned on

Yes, I did create for x86. And, good to know about the time only counting while up. That will help. Still, it would be nice to put a demo license on it so I could leave the machine on for stress testing.

beta9 doesnt allow demo keys still ?

we are working on it
