Hi All,
Got an odd problem here. I am running Routeros 5.14 on a standard Sun server. My connection to my ISP is a PPoE connection that dial’s first, get’s a connection and all Internet traffic goes through that. This is also the connection that set’s the default route.
The issue is that whilst I am able to connect to the PPTP Server from a Windows Box, it does the following when I set this up on RouterOS
- Dials
- Authenticates
- Connects
- Times out with (keepalives timed out).
I set-up debugging on this machine and noticed that it does sent LCP packet’s and does indeed receive them.
I have a profile set-up in /ppp profile whereby the encryption is CHAP2, no compression etc and a standard set-up. I’ve tried messing around with these and it makes no different at all.
The PPTP server to my knowledge is a Linux machine but the machine itself I don’t have access to. For a successful connection to this server I am advised that there should be no compression, chap2 encryption and no BSD Deflate?
I wanted to have the routeros box manage this VPN Client connection and to SNAT or masquerade behind the Public IP I receive from the VPN connection.
Any idea’s/advice I’d greatly appreciate.
Thanks,
