RouterOS 6.29.1 + LCD problems

RouterOS 6.29.1

have been troubleshooting internet speed issues for the last two weeks. i have 150/20 and used to get pretty close to that. recently discovered i’d rarely get above 35-40mbps. through another router/fw (Palo Alto) i was able to get pretty close to the max so i did some digging. Read somewhere to try disabling the LCD - thought it was silly but figured what the hell. Sure enough i consistently get 120+ with LCD off and back to 35 with LCD on.

Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround?

I’m having the same issue. I just updated to 6.29.1 from 6.24 series and my internet speed download has dropped from 150/10 to 30/10. I have disabled the lcd like you stated from the web interface, but it has had no effect on me.

Seems so that there are more threads with that problem.

I had started one: http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/strange-limit-to-throughput/87608/2

Found also this: http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/6-29-1-internet-speed-drop/88863/1

So there is a general problem with newer versions of RouterOS.

I hope the guys at Mikrotik can look into this.

Simply make the LCD to goes OFF after 15 mins after turn on the router and dont have problems.. LCD will start automatically when screen is touched !

Turning off LCD does not change anything.

Just an update-
I’ve upgraded to the latest public rev of 6.30 and still having the same problem.

LCD Off speedtest:

The Mikrotik support told me to try following commands and that solved the throughput problem:

/queue type set ethernet-default pfifo-limit=100
/queue interface set [find] queue=ethernet-default

i saw that in your post above and got my hopes up. upgraded the firmware to 3.24 as well as tried your suggested changes. unfortunately same results.
