RouterOS 6.39.1 on x86

Hello, im upgrade an RouterOS on my server to 6.39.1, his work fine cutrrent day after upgrade. And next day his going freez and his dont find in winbox app(mac or ip address). But hardware supples work normaly(i think). I took a hard reboot my server, and he`s going normaly work before next day. The next day the situation repeated, could not update so to affect the work?

Isn’t there any problem with licensing?

Honest, I do not know… Im new system engenier in organization, his system working on 4 years. How i check a license?

Could be just coincidental to the 6.39.1, but being a x86 system running for 4 years, that suddenly start to fail, I’d thoroughly check hardware, stress-testing it.

What was the previous ROS version?

Previos ROS is 5.14 or 5.74 or 5.24. I do not remember, forgive my carelessness …

Oh. It was a big jump… May happen that many configuration details are no more compatible. Surely you made a copy of the machine and tried the upgrade before you did it in production, didn’t you?

I have only backup configuration befor upgrade, we are using RouterOS for Wi-Fi HotSpot and gateway.

It’s like with everything… Are you going blindly to upgrade your servers to latest version when they were 4 years untouched? If you can, make a backup copy, try the downgrade and then make export, play with upgrade and find out what was the problem. Test it, keep running for some time to be sure after that implement the solution in production. Always watch your back.

System success downgrade, make a testin for stability. How a version of RouterOS you recomendet for next try upgrade?

You can upgrate to the latest. But first read the release notes to see what have changed meanwhile. Think what does it mean for you. Make export from legacy version and try it how it behaves imported into the testing sandbox. After that make the final decision.
