RouterOS AES compatible to 802.11i AES

Hello,

does someone know if RouterOS AES encryption is compatible to 802.11i AES?

Thanks so far,
canram

I can report that MikroTik AES works with LinkSys wireless devices…

That sounds good.

What I want to do is to run Mikrotik RouterOS in AP-Mode with AES encryption and use an 802.11i Client-Bridge on the User(Client)-Side.

This would be a more secure alternative to WEP or just WPA.

Sure. You´ve got an email ,)

How did you configure your linksys.

I tried to use a wrt54g in client mode and mikrotik-os in ap-bridge mode both using aes. The wrt54g connects fine to the ap. But the performance is very weak. Ping responses within the same subnet are pending between <1 ms up to 150 ms.

If I disconnect the wrt54g and try to reconnect to the ap, the client sings up with the ap, but it seems that encryption is not working. No Pings are possible. Reconnect works only I wait about 15 minutes since last disconnet or if I reboot the mikrotik-ap.

When using wep, everything´s working fine. Good performance, no connection problems.

Can you please help me?

I´m using Mikrotik 2.8.26 and latest OpenWrt experimental on the client-ap.

Hi canram,

I can only set up my test gear again on Monday, I’ll do some more testing then and post results…

Thank you in advance.
