try to move the hard drive to another computer and see if it works there. make sure you have the same BIOS settings, and that you connect the drive in the same way as in the current computer (if it is Primary Master, LBA mode in the first computer, it must be the same in the other computer). if still nothing, you may need to reinstall the software
