My company is in the process of converting from StarOS to MT for our WISP access points and CPE, and I’ve run up against a couple of “key tools” I use in the StarOS configuration interface that I can’t intuit how to do with Winbox. Does a way to do the things I have listed below exist, and if so can someone point me to documentation or a walkthrough that describes how to do it?
- With StarOS, we have a “ping watchdog” set up to monitor a specific address and automatically reboot the equipment if it cannot reach the specified address in a given length of time.
- With StarOS, we can make a number of changes simultaneously without any of them taking effect until we activate the changes. In addition, we have to manually tell it to save our changes, so we can combine this with (1) above to make a potentially disruptive change such as reconfiguring the client SSID or IP configuration while having the unit reboot and come up on the old settings if the changes fail.
- With StarOS, we can perform a site survey on a remote client without losing remote connectivity to the unit.
Thanks in advance for your assistance,
