I’m using Mikrotik RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD router. I’ve just bought a range extender (to extend wireless signal outdoor) - Zyxel WRE6505 v2. I configured the extender - only set up router’s wireless access data, easy. Also changed IP address from default 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.88.2 (because the main Mikrotik router uses 192.168.88.1). It seemed to work until somehow I disconnected from extended network. I can connect to it but it has no internet access any more. I also set up static IP 192.168.88.2 in Mikrotik DHCP. I tried to reconfigure the repeater many times, the same result.
The strange thing is that sometimes it works. Usually when I connect first time with my laptop to the repeater network everything works. When I reconnect, I have no internet access, only through main Mikrotik network. Then I restart (plug out-in) the Zyxel extender and it works again until I don’t disconnect my laptop from it.
I’m pretty sure there is some configuration setting on Mikrotik which should be changed to enable repeater proper working. Unfortunately I’m not so experienced with this. Please, could anybody help me?
