We have several hundred RB951G-2HnD in the field, all with an identical ‘customer’ configuration. Very occasionally we will log into one with Winbox and the “RouterOS Default Configuration” message box appear. It offers the standard 3 buttons: 1) remove Configuration, 2) Show Script…, and 3) OK. Our standard ‘customer’ configuration is still installed and operational on the RB951G-2HnD. Subsequent winbox logins to this router will always show this same message box. this is the same message box that appears when the router is brand new. However, we know it was successfully configured with ‘our’ configuration and is operational.
Does anyone know the hardware or software sequence that causes this message box to appear, but without a factory reset? We would like to eliminate this sequence, since an incorrect selection of a button will wipe the configuration and make the router unusable for our customers.
