I am running RouterOS 5.9 on a basic PC Tower. It’s all configured nicely with the hotspot running. For months there has been no major problem, although there have been a limited number of users. At present there are more users connected and I am experiencing a problem where it will sometimes login correctly and other times returns the “Web browser did not send challenge response” message. A lot of users are getting this.
I went to the site myself and tested it and what I noticed was that at the times that it did allow me to login, it appeared to be requesting login after each link that I clicked, although it was “auto” logging in by sending the saved cookie for the login. So, it looked as though it was “timing out” almost immediately but using the cookie to connect me again immediately.
The idle timeout for the hotspot is set to 1d 00:00:00.
Thanks for your assistance, I am going to try with HTTP-PAP instead as that seems as though it would be more compatible and the encryption is not really relevant in this case.
