RouterOS response to DHCP NAK?

I’m having an issue with a cable provider, where RouterOS v6.0rc12 periodically (weekly) loses its IP:

e.g.
apr/09/2013 14:39:43 dhcp,critical,error dhcp-client on ether1-gateway lost IP address 68.XXX.XXX.XXX - received NAK from dhcp server 192.168.100.1
apr/09/2013 14:40:06 dhcp,critical,error dhcp-client on ether1-gateway lost IP address 192.168.100.2 - lease expired

After this NAK, the connection is simply dead until the cable modem is power-cycled.

What is the RouterOS response to a DHCP NAK? Is it trying to do DHCPDISCOVER/DHCPREQUEST, or will it simply give up until a link-state change (or a manual $ ip dhcp-client renew)?

Semenko,

I am using v6rc14 , I am having problems of NAK, but inside my network, like my Mac tries to get IP from DHCP on routerOS, but the server sends Naks, after 2 Naks, they keep the dialog just with Discover & offers and nothing to get the IP into my Mac. But with Linux & Win7 works fine.

I will do a downgrade do v5 and check if the problem is on the dhcp server of the RouterOS.

cheers

I have exactly this problem. We also get a NAK error and loose the connectivity for a while. It seems that this is happening right about the time the lease expires that has been given bij the ISP on the WAN interface.

Anyone ideas what this could be?
