I quoted the pertinent part. It's a list of 3 things, one which I reject and commented on. As I read it, "setup tools" and AI were two different items.
I assumed it mandatory simply because the word "optional" was not there. Kind of like "added a replaceable air filter" to a car that used to use an oil bath device. Non optional . . . (and that's where most things seem to be charging today.)
Language issues are not my problem. It seemed well written and clear from here, and English is the board language after all. If someone writes something unclear, questions are asked (like here). The OP replied and we were good. (Note how he isn't the one bleating and whining about said question?)
"Setup wizards" are another thing I have very little use for . . . but they are a tool for many. My experience is that they don't handle the complex configs I build without a fight, so I build them myself, rather than fighting a tool that doesnn't understand my goal. (And is the reason I have replaced all my other brand gear . . . the limitations were just too much, as well as a speed upgrade/update.)
AI "aversion" to AI? If seeing it almost always getting things wrong while adding no value (it doesn't actually think, it just regurgitates collected info, as I am sure that you are aware) is an "aversion" (I would not pick that word), then perhaps. I guess the noted behavior of a lot of AI to steal data doesn't matter either . . . And, it's hysterical how everyone masks config data for security, but seems to be willing to run a config created by an unknown. I simply find AI a solution in search of a problem, that also adds unnecessary risks for me. (I also have AI site access blocked in my network via AdGuard . . . It can't get in, and I won't let users leak things to it . . . Argue if you must, but I don't honestly care at this point.)
Perhaps this is why I prefer the native UI . . . it gives me access to everything, and the associated flexibility that brings. I prefer to fully learn a product, and not use tools I see as a crutch.
And, as for others (perhaps yourself? Too lazy to look . . . ) If you don't like my questions or issues, feel free to not read them. I comment based on my experience andd what has worked for me for decades, nothing more, and hope to offer at a minimum background and possible insight for others. Not saying that my way of doing things is the best, just that it has worked for me dor decades, so it can't be that bad either!
This kind of tool definitely has a place. The key is for potential users to understand the pros and cons to determine they are "that place". That can only be done via critical discussions of the good, bad, and possibly ugly . . .
