RouterOS upgrade fail - no connection

Hi all,

several years ago (6) I bought RouterBoard 450G with RouterOS v4 L4 and used it for this period with no problems. But during last christmas I tried to upgrade to the newest possible v5 version so I went through upgrade instructions (copy package to RB and restart).

Unfortunately after restart I can’t connect to RB with any method (IP, MAC neither serial port). :frowning: After startup RB normally beeps, all ports seem to be up and running. I also tried soft and hard reset but with no success.

Please provide me some advice.

Thanks in advance.

Please help, anyone…

Also “The device is dead” would be possible answer, but I need to be sure before buying a new one.

It is not nessesary. Reinstall routerOS with netinstall I think is a kernel error and can not start.

I tried netinstall yesterday evening but with no success. I have to check if I used right cable, because device seems to be working but I had no output in terminal.

In any case, thank you for your answer. I’ll check the cable and we’ll see if it should be changed for another one.

Hear you the 2 beeps?

Thank you for the assistance and support. I’d bought yesterday right null-modem cable so everything went very well with no problems. I performed netinstall, restore backed up configuration and now system is up and running.

Great
