RouterOS upgrade from 4.x to 5.x kills hotspot with https

With any version of 5.x when I try to create a hotspot with a valid ssl certificate I get an SSL connection error instead of the login page.

If I roll back to version 4.x with the same certificates (valid verisign) it works as intended and users can login to hotspot using https/ssl.

Is anyone out there using hotspot + https in 5.x?

I’ve sent a bug report with supout.rif into support@mikrotik.com but based on my past experiences that won’t yield any response.

Strangely enough, with 5.x I can use the valid certificate and enable /ip services www-ssl and get a completely valid SSL session for the web configuration. The issue only exists with https hotspot.

I’ve researched and researched to find these same (UNANSWERED) complaints:

http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/certificado-https-no-hotspot-v5-9/52466/2 (in spanish)
http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/hotspot-redirect-not-working-mostly/52371/3

It seems to me that 5.x just flat out doesn’t support https for hotspot, yet all of the configuration options are there and there isn’t one mention anywhere in documentation about the lacking functionality.

I would sincerely appreciate some feedback on this, thank you.

Before I get the standard, “try the latest version” response:

On 5.x I am using 5.10 (latest) and this is the version I submitted the supout to support@mikrotik.com

On 4.x I am using 4.17 (latest legacy) and it works as intended with hotspot + https

I’d also like to mention that in 5.10 if I use any method other than https for the hotspot server it works fine, granted without SSL!

same problem here!

on 5.10, I get a SSL error on https loginpage!

Everyone does from what I can tell, but we can’t get any confirmation.

MT!!! Can you confirm this as a known bug? Can you confirm a fix, a path to a fix, at least can you confirm that this is not on your list of things to fix.

v5.11 fixes it, it’s already being released to the web

Thank you!
