RouterOS v4 RC1 released

What’s new in 4.0rc1:

*) incorporated all the bugfixes since v3.30;
*) port remote-access - added ‘log-file’ property. If value is a non-empty
string, then all data that is read from the port is appended to a file
with that name, regardless of the active remote connection;
*) console - removed ‘/user’ from the output of top level ‘/export’ command,
still can be exported by ‘/user export’;

RC in the name means “Release Candidate”, ie. the v4 is out of beta

Great work guys!

Normis, have some optimization or best performance in 802.11n?

Have any future plan to best wireless performance? the traffic demand is each day more more more more more bandwidth…

Next week i go try a high througput link and thinking in RB600A + R52N + ROS 4RC1

Regards!

I noticed that “/interface wireless print advanced” returns the same result as “/interface wireless print”. So some advanced settings (RTS) is not visible from CLI. Maybe there is another way to see the settings in CLI? I am used to ‘print adv’ from wireless-test on 3.x

And it would be better to mention Lua support was removed from 4.RC1 in changelog. I wasted some time checking why Lua is not working (trying to first test the Lua in ROS) until I found a notice on your Wiki :frowning:

D. Toman

can we have a link?.. didn’t found anyuthing about that.

thanks

Lua was unfortunately too unstable and not complete enough to include in v4.

dont know if i am doing something wrong. i was used to “print oid” to get the signal strenght oid in the reg-table
now on rc1 “print oid” shows me the same result as “print” both on reg-table and on system/resources

any ideas?

looks like a bug, thanks

Normis, is ANI and Nstreme fixed with R52N in RC1?

i just spent about an hour reading up on LUA and now realized it has been removed. Oh well : ) The current scripting language isnt that bad, we just need better serial port and file access.

add a space to the end of the command (or youse TAB to autocomplete the command). I reported this to MT yesterday

i upgrade from beta 4 to RC1, and have 6 to 10 reboot at day, with kernel failure.

RB 433, 1 UB5, 1 r52, 1r52n

i added the supout
autosupout.zip (386 KB)

what wifi card do you use? I haw saw kernel failures on 4.x when we tested some obscure card (included in some older Proxim radios). The card seemed to work with 3.x (now thinking about it I am not sure we used wireless-test in the test) but on 4.0RC1 caused immediate reboot when crad was enabled.

I use an Routerboard RB433 with 3 cards (1 ubiquiti ub5, 1 R52 and 1 R52N) all new cards and working in V4beta4

I have dejavu… this had already been fixed few years ago, AFAIR :smiley:

Come on Normis, get with the program please. We need answers!!!
