High speed configuration for filters, scripting and other features_
What’s new in 6.0rc1 (2012-Sep-20 13:13):
*) i386 - increased number of supported cores to 64;
*) userman - fix unpaid profile activation while authenticating;
*) dhcp client - custom options;
*) dhcp options - allow mixing different data types;
*) console - “export compact” now is the default, use “export verbose” to get
previous behaviour;
*) ntp - make it work again;
*) tftpd - if real-file is a existing directory then prefix request with it;
*) RB333 ethernets are back;
*) dns - rotate servers only on failure;
To see how much the speed is increased in RouterOS v6, check our our new RB1100AHx2 tests, done on professional testing equiment: http://routerboard.com/RB1100AHx2 (page bottom)
I’m sorry to say that final version of RouterOS v6 will not include this feature, as the drivers we tried to use, did not meet our quality standards, and it is a bit too late to write our own implementation from scratch.

I tested it on a 750 and a 532, seems to be a lot less cpu intensive. Haven’t tried the backup yet to see the issue listed above. Hope we can use this on the box full of 133’s we have! thank Normis, tell the guys to keep up the good work!! See you in Louisiana if I can get away.
rx drops - what are we counting here ? frames not destined to our mac address ? frames with crc problems ? I get quote some of these but ping is going without loss (RB450G HW Rev 2009-ish Eth5)
