RouterOS version change information

Is there anywhere I can find detailed information on the changes made between each RouterOS version? I am trying to track down the answer to an issue I am having when I upgrade one of the mikrotiks on my network with RouterOS 2.9 with a new one using a version 3 or 4 RouterOS, and lose the ability communicate with parts of my network.

A basic example of my issue: I have 3 routers, RouterA receiving internet from my provider, passing it to routerB, then B passes it to RouterC, etc. Each router is in a seperate location, and wireless bridges establish connection between them. Each router also drives one or more wireless access points. I am directly wired to a LAN off of routerA. With the original routers (version 2.9) I would be able to ping any client equipment on any of the other routers, all the bridge radios, and could log into each router by any of its interface addresses.

When replacing one of the routers; I will use RouterB as an example, I would take a current backup of its config, drop it into the new Routerboard (RB750), and import those settings. I would have to manually assign each subnet to an ethernet interface (this is the only thing I can find in the config that DOESN’T copy over smoothly, most likely due to the hardware differences between my old routers and the new boards.). Once I input those settings, I would install the board in its place on the network.

My issue is that after installing the new routerB, I will no longer have the ability to remotely access anything beyond RouterB’s public interface IP. I cannot ping or log into it via one of the LAN addresses, and cannot reach any of the clients connected to it… And I will be unable to reach routerC at all… I am, as far as I can tell, using all the same settings as a router that DID work, but something appears to have changed, making my current network setup unusable… I should point out that the new routers still “work”, in that they still allow full internet access to clients, it is just that I can no longer remotely diagnose anything once one of the new routers is in between me and the client I am trying to monitor…

I am thinking that it is possible that one of the later software revisions could have introduced heightened security, and that my old routers worked the way they did because they were more relaxed in the way they handled things, “allowing” certain network traffic by default that the new routerOS is designed to “block” by default. If anybody here has heard of, or run into similar problems when attempting to upgrade to hardware running newer RouterOS versions, I would greatly appreciate any advice you may have for me. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
