Hi all.
By no means a Mikrotik expert but I have been running a RB1100AHx2 at home for a while now with no issues. I have recently run into a strange issue though. At present, I am running 7.16.1 (stable) version on it, however when I upgrade to any new release past that, my internet connection never works post the router reboot.
I can see in the logs that it attempts to connect but keeps failing. As soon as I revert to 7.16.1 everything starts working again.
Has anyone else had this happen before?
From 7.16.1 to current stable is quite a stretch, it was released just under 1 year ago... a lot of things which have been changed which may result in this behavior.
What's the exact log message you see when this happens ?
How is the device placed in the surrounding network ?
It might be needed to provide full config after the upgrade so we can have a look.
On 7.16.1 make supout.rif, and rename to supworking.rif
Update to 7.19.4
If not work, make another supout.rif.
Then open a tiket to support and send them both.
Do not put the two supout.rif on forum.
If you need to put back 7.16, test first if 7.16.2 (not .1) work correctly.
Maybe it is just a configuration issue?
I have found that upgrading to any version past 7.16.1 drops the DHCP client settings I receive from my ISP. Post the upgrade there is no entry under the DHCP client settings. It also drops 2 of the dynamically created routes and the dynamically assigned address under address list. I believe these all come from the ISP once the DHCP client is bound. Manually recreating the route, DHCP client settings and address list entry post an upgrade does not restore internet connectivity. I’ll follow rextended’s advice and export the 2 supout files and raise a ticket with Mikrotik support to see what they say. Thanks for the support.
