Routing Package disabled?

What does the routing package do specifically?

I ask because I’m testing a RB192 (RouterOS 2.9.51) at home with a PPPoE connection to my DSL provider and noticed that the routing package is Disabled, however my home network’s connection is just fine. Is the package for enabling/configuring routing protocols?

Yeah, I believe it is only needed for RIP/OSPF/BGP/etc…

The “routing” package enables autonomous routing protocols such as RIP, OSPF, BGP. Static routing is always available in any functional scenario.

If you don’t need automated routing on your network, it’s safe (and I would say even recommended) to disable it.
