Routing performance of CRS-125-24G-1S running ROS 6.18?

Hi,

I have a CRS connected to WAN 330/330 Mbps (IPv4 w/multicasting). WAN is working on full speed ±5Mbps - tested several times using speedtest.net (directly connected PC, or CRS in bridge mode). But

  • using my own firewall rules I found limit on 115 Mbps download then 95 Mbps upload (not tested simultaneously). It includes multicasting.
  • with default config and minimal firewall rules (NAT + 6 others) it is possible to achieve 135 Mbps download then 100 Mbps upload (not tested simultaneously).
  • with CPU clocked to 750MHz I can push default config 155 Mbps download then 100 Mbps upload (not tested simultaneously).

In all cases CPU seems to be limit as it jump to 90-100%. But my expectation is higher then given results as CPU is the same as RB951G with published results more than double.

Unfortunately I don’t have additional RB to test different HW.

Any idea about solution of the problem? How to do profiling and perfomance optimization? Somebody can confirm behaviour?

Thanks.

The chart does not show nat and contrack, real will eat resources too. My guess is that your at max speed for that hardware
