Routing Stops on 532

OK, I am new to the MikroTik OS and RouterBoard hardware, but thought I understood basic IP routing…guess I was wrong!

Here is my problem.

I have 5 532’s that I want to act as a basic IP router. One ethernet interface is attached to the local LAN and the other is attached to a WAN wireless radio. I want to route IP packets across the two interfaces. The only way I was able to get routing to work was to setup a NAT masquerade on each interface…routing working. (seems strange to need a NAT to route??)

But…a few times a day, the 532 stops seeing its default gateway on the WAN interface. No errors in logs. A reboot of the 532 and everything starts working again. The LAN interface is working fine and I can ping the WAN interface’s IP…

This is driving me crazy!

Ideas?
