Hi,
Can anyone provide an estimate of how much ram is used per perfix in a routing table on ROS.
I’m not looking to be told “For the global routing table you need more than X” I am wondering about calculating it
so if I know a client will see 10K prefixes I can estimate how much ram they need
Thanks
Mark
This is for BGP routes

10K prefixes will fit onto all rack mountable MikroTik routers including the RB2011/3011/1100AHx2. You will likely be able to fit them in smaller routers as well but I wouldn’t recommend it.
For the full BGP Global Table at 600,000 routes, I wouldn’t use anything less than a CCR1036. For a large private routing table that is around 10k, I wouldn’t use anything less than a 3011/1100AHx2 and would probably opt for a CCR1009 ideally.
