Hi Mikrotik Community,
I’ve been trying to get in contact with someone at Mikrotik to pursue the development of RTLS functions using the wireless interfaces. There is a technology out there now that does this originally known as Aeroscout, it was then purchased by Stanley Health and now more recently is owned by Securitas Health. The solution uses beacon frame style communications seen on the wireless interface and then transmits these packets to a Real-Time location engine for processing.
This is currently functionality that is implemented in many top-level vendors including Cisco and HP, we would like to seek support from the community to have it introduced into the RouterOS. I have all the documents pertaining to how to achieve this, all it requires is Mikrotik to give it the go ahead. It seems they do not accept funding to do such a thing, so I am seeking community support and interest. I believe this would allow us to use the MikroTik wireless devices in Hospitals and any healthcare tapping into a billion-dollar industry.
