Dear MikroTik,
Can we create rule to block Web browser IE access to internet?
You can block entire HTTP traffic (port 80 TCP).
I don’t think this could be done on SwOS, try ‘next door’ discussion about RouterOS.
hi
use l7 application filtering technique, match IE patterns and block them. tere is a some l7 filtering tutorials in mikrotik wiki
I use ROUTEROS proxy and block.. also, use opendns and block there..
Remember, with the correct rules, you can force ALL port 80 thru the proxy. (As well as DNS)
There are also proxy servers IE MX Logic Etc that can report os usage Etc…
Ofcourse it could be done in Swos.
You have to use ACL, in “IP Dest” put: “:80”.
Yes, it could. But not to block Internet Explorer only - I’ve understood the first question (‘to block Web browser IE’) in this meaning, maybe I’m wrong ![]()
