Run Native OpenWrt on RB1100?

I know I can build and run the OpenWrt trunk as a virtual machine in the RB1100 but how difficult will it be to port OpenWrt to run natively in the RB1100? What switch chips are used in it? Will an image built for one of the other RB PPC boards work?

I am guessing that they are using the Atheros 8316 switch chip which is used in the RB450G and RB750G.

If they have OpenWrt ported to the RB800 then you should have a good start.

The only RouterBoard listed in the root level of OpenWrt’s make menuconfig is the RB532 and there’s no listing under the AMCC/IBM PPC selections.

It’s been ported to much more than just RB532, maybe not by default, but instructions exist:
