Unfortunately, there’s no trigger to automatically fire up NordVPN, like when you use a specific port or IP address. Why can’t you just leave NordVPN on all the time and, say, only route certain traffic through it?
Is this gaming done through wired ports or wifi.

If done through ports, then connect to a switch and control the switch for nordvpn only, if done by wifi assing a vlan SSID to the wLAN for nordvpn only

Nope, you dedicate one vlan to be connected to the VPN at all times.
Users can join that VLAN by accessing an SSID for that purpose ( A WLAN connected to the VLAN ) or they connect to a port on a switch ( and join same vlan )
